Linking through language
by The Maltese language is the only Semitic-based official language of the European Union. It provides us with a unique platform of engagement to connect Europe and the North-African and Arab cultures that occupy the Mediterranean region.
The Maltese language is the only Semitic-based official language of the European Union. It provides us with a unique platform of engagement to connect Europe and the North-African and Arab cultures that occupy the Mediterranean region. Our rich past, bearing the influence of various forces, will be a pivotal resource for us to find common ground with these diverse cultures to create a spirit of understanding and inclusiveness within a European artistic dimension. V.18 welcomes programmes that explore the diversity of Malta’s make-up and make links, both contemporary and by drawing on our history, with our Mediterranean neighbours tracing a common heritage both north south and east west.
